Title: The Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Circular Economy: A New Instrument for Environmental Protection.

Abstract: The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the circular economy is a critical factor for environmental protection. AI technologies, such as machine learning and deep learning, improve the management, reuse and recycling of natural resources. In the chemical industry, AI optimises production and enhances the efficiency of chemical reactions. In addition , it reduces the energy required and minimises the waste generated. Predictive models help in efficient recycling of materials, allowing their separation, purification and reuse. Furthermore, AI systems provide real-time monitoring, streamlining the production process and supporting the design of closed-loop recovery of by-products. These innovations promote sustainability and improve the efficiency of industrial ecosystems. Ultimately, they contribute to the protection of the environment and the creation of a sustainable world.

BIO: Angelos Kalafatas is with the Democritus University of Thrace, Kavala , Greece. His research interests are in circular economy and bioeconomy, quality and safety of products, wastewater treatment, nutraceuticals design and development. He has won a European competition with his innovative idea for wineries by-products, clever re-utilisation and the development of a novel biodegradable packaging material . He has also developed an ecological Adsorbent material for the reduction of environmental pollution. He works hard with his colleagues for the creation of a better world through the solutions and applications of chemistry.
